I have been working with web development since 1997 -- teaching myself by looking at other websites and reading an HTML 4.0 book. I started by updating the newsletter on my company's Intranet site and can remember how cool I thought I was. The more I did the more I wanted to learn -- in my search I discovered the HTML Writer's Guild which is now known as the International Webmasters Association (IWA).
I have taken many different online classes (ASP, XML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, etc.) from the IWA and used this site to post my many assignments. I'm no longer taking classes, but continue to improve my web skills by viewing other websites, reading and trying new techniques.
